Francesco Mascio, Italian guitarist and composer, was born in Cassino in 1981.
He has a multi-year career to his credit with a four-figure concert bill both in Italy, from Turin to Caltanissetta, passing through Milan, Bologna, Rome and Naples, and abroad in Europe and the United States. Numerous albums, including "Europa Jazz Quartet" (Zone di Musica 2012), "Mantras for a New Era" (Zone di Musica 2013), "Ganga's Spirit" (Emme Record Label 2015), "Jaggae" (Filibusta Records 2017 ). , which led him to play at the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome, “Wu Way” (Filibusta Records 2018), “Live at Strike” (Cultural Bridge 2019), “I Thàlassa Mas” (Manitu Records 2019), “Preview ” (Italian Way Music 2020) and his new work My Standards (Birdbox Records 2022). He has played with jazz greats such as Tony Monaco, Francisco Mela, Shawnn Monteiro, Fabrizio Bosso, Flavio Boltro, Karl Potter, Crystal White, Gegè Telesforo, Maurizio Giammarco, Rosario Giuliani, Pippo Matino, Giovanni Learnato and many others.
His compositions have gone through numerous styles to arrive today at a completely original and characterizing production. Like all artists he doesn't like to be identified with a specific genre, but if we wanted to find a place for him we could place him in a peculiar 'Jazz Crossover'.
His vocation is clearly experimentation, from East to West, without borders. Because Francesco Mascio absorbs every experience, lived and observed, and transforms it into a profound suggestion that, through music, he shares with the rest of the world.
