Paolo Recchia | IMAGINARY PLACE •Reference Master Tape Copy• + CD
Analog tape offers the optimal opportunity to produce high definition masters of great sound quality. They have been used to record famous albums that have made the history of world discography, since this type of technology introduces pleasant artifacts and distortions that enhance the music.
A professional recording on analog tape adds the right amount of Punch, Warmth, Confusion and Roundness. "With reel-to-reel tape, the sound range and the sense of width and depth of the soundstage are different. The noise is barely audible unless you try to feel it. The realistic sound provides very realistic dynamics.
"It's a sound you can hold in your hand but only with tapes copied directly from the original masters."

_______
The alto and soprano saxophonist Paolo Recchia, for the fifth release signed by the newly formed Birdbox Records label, presents himself with a quartet of top-level musicians now recognized by the jazz press and audience: pianist Luca Mannutza, double bass player Giuseppe Romagnoli and drummer Nicola Angelucci.
“Imaginary place” welcomes the listener into an imaginary place, a creative space where the musical ideas of the group members intertwine, giving new points in common, blending traditional jazz with contemporary elements in a personal synthesis. It is a generous live album, with a deep desire for mutual respect and shared love for this music at its core.
The work is composed of original material and standards of the jazz tradition. Some of these compositions belong to musicians who have had a direct influence on Paolo Recchia's way of playing and are a source of inspiration in terms of harmony, melody and rhythm.
I would like to express my deepest gratitude and my most sincere thanks to my wife Arianna for being at my side in the realization of this work, to the incredible generosity and art of the musicians who accompanied me in this project, to the beautiful audio and video work of the director and sound engineer Lorenzo Vella of Birdbox Records.
